Hey everyone,

I'm dealing with a frustrating issue on my MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WiFi motherboard, and I’d appreciate any insights.

Issue:

After repasting my CPU today, my PC monitor refused to display anything, and the motherboard showed error code 55 (Memory not installed).

Troubleshooting Done:

  • I tested different RAM sticks and slots, and I found that one of the RAM slots isn’t making stable contact.

  • As a test, I left the PC running for about 15 minutes to let the motherboard warm up.

  • After restarting (forcing memory training), the RAM was detected, and the PC booted normally.

  • However, after a full shutdown and cooldown, the issue returns.

thanks in advance!

Sounds like improperly seated CPU/dirty or damaged socket.

So I just woke up and turned on the PC and apparently it turned on just fine? although yesterday I troubleshooted it for hours
honestly Idk I'll see if the problem comes back and if it does I'll check on the CPU, thanks for your response!
