Flying with American Airlines, I tried to access the free internet provided by T-Mobile at about 50k feet.  T-Mobile, in all their stupidity tried to send me a text to verify it was me.

So I'm trying to get in flight connection, but needed a text from T-Mobile, but needed in flight connection to get the text...

I  had 10 texts with codes when I landed...

Well what do you expect from a company who have hacked 4 times with in 5 years?

The in-flight wifi offered by them has been touchy for me to say the least when I've flown in the past year with Delta. Sometimes there is the main login portal and a second portal and one will give you SMS access and the other won't and it's just a huge PITA to deal with all around, I blame both though for that. Never been prompted for a SMS before getting on the WiFi though, that's definitely something, lol

This is cause there is no ground connection when flying. So you were trying to use the WiFi when there certainly could not have been 3g/4g/5g access. It's kind of stupid however for the airline to provide a service that can't be used without using it before takeoff first. What are they afraid of, someone's going to ... actually I'm not going to finish that thought.

The very definition of first world problems. You did not need internet while flying. Do airplanes no longer offer in-flight movies? Maybe take a nap?

Only time ever flying was on Spirit. I can confirm they had no in flight movies offered. Though Im sure they would have charged if they did offer them.

Spirit offers anything?
Spirit's whole thing is offer nothing to make tickets cheap.

Most flights from like AA or Delta do offer in flight films, but it completely depends on the plane. Puddle hoppers of course wont.

inflight wifi will always be... not great. Because it would be satellite based.
