Intel DH61AG build

So, I build up computers as a hobby and as form of retail therapy. Got ahold of two of these Intel DH61AG motherboards and I built one as just a basic, no frills computer for a kid or someone that needs a PC. 

 

However, with this one, I am wondering if I should find a way to affix a GPU to this build. It's an i7-3770S with 16GB of DDR3 SODIMM RAM.

 

My idea is to get a PCIe extension to mini PCIe and find a way to hide it/mount it and then, maybe drill out/double sided tape in the case or find a way to run an HDMI extension cable to not mess anything up. 

 

My choices are going to probably be low profile as I only have about 150w on an external AC unit but looking at either an RX 560 or GTX 950/960.

 

Anyone else done a modification to a case and had decent results on this level, or am I just wasting my time?

None of the gpu's you choose can work as they are pcie powered and consume basically ALL the power you have.

 

The baord you have is also a x4 slot so also limiting.

 

The system you built here is really only made for a igpu only rig not a gpu base system. For that you picked basically the entirely wrong board, chassis and gpu. so wouldn't commit to it. That and theres no ventilation for the gpu

Leave as is or sell it entirely as old intel is also quite bad considering used ryzen cpus like the 3100 are now 30$ and obliterate that poor 3770

I use low clock XEON, 40 watt With same core count. Package sits at 15 watt. NVIDIA 1030 Up to 10 watt. 4 Pcie lane limit in stock.

All sata is currently populated too. + 2 60 mm fans and 4 40 mm silent server fans 

Also I chose to Disable Processor C states in BIOS as those CPUS switch gates are whiny

The Total GPU Height is About 2u, so maybe you would have to hack the aluminum heatsink

as an alternative I would recommend GT710-SL-1GD5-BRK Depending on your task input.
