Hey folks, just wondering if I can get some thoughts on the build before I buy the rest of the parts. It's my first time working with mATX mobo so im unsure if the 7900xt is fine with a mATX mobo. I'm also wondering if it is possible to install a wifi card on the mobo I picked. Please let me know if there is anything you'd change to make the build better or cheaper. Appreciate the help 🙂

  1. It'll be more than fine, either way you'll always want an anti-sag installed whether your board is ATX or not.
  2. You better off using the E-Key m.2 slot to install the wifi card, because using a separate pcie card would present unnecessary airflow and clearance issue. Or better yet, buy a board that already comes with a wifi card.

Why don't you get an ATX board (or mATX) with Wifi in the first place ?

mATX might feel small in that ATX case

like the Asus TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI ATX for $200

Honestly, I just kept reading online that the asrock b650m pro rs was the best bang for buck card out there. As for why not the asus b650-plus, I read that it's not a good mobo. Do you think the b650-plus is good in this build/a good mobo?

I realized shortly after posting this that getting wifi on the pro rs will be challenging once I did some Google searching. I kept reading on reddit that a b650 is the better motherboard. Are there any downsides to going for the b850?

Also, I noticed that you downgraded to 750w. In your opinion, Is that more than enough for this build or is it just barely enough?

Oh, indeed, I didn't notice the B850/B650 issue.

I'd get the Asus Wifi board over your Asrock board. But there are other candidates like @SorryBellas one

Motherboard size has no impact on performance. It's fine but unoptimal. Why get a motherboard + wifi card when a motherboard that comes with WIFI is cheaper? Pricy RAM, overkill cooling:
