So, this seems interesting. Not a bad idea, I can see this and a wireless charging as a "future" of battery charging. Would be cool to strap this on your backpack and just plug your phone while walking :)

I'm surprised this thing doesn't exist already.

The stone cannot know why the chisel cleaves it; the iron cannot know why the fire scorches it. When thy life is cleft and scorched, when death and despair leap at thee, beat not thy breast and curse thy evil fate, but thank the Builder for the trials that shape thee.

Solar chargers have existed for years, their sold on amazon already, all portable consumer ones work by recharging their internal batteries which then charge your device, the best ones you can also charge by plugging into the wall, which you will need to do because even though solar panel technology is developing at a pretty fast pace it's just not good enough to charge the batteries inside in a timely manner, even worse if you have a whisper of a cloud.

They're the future but the solar technology really need to improve before they are truly usable.

The panel on this thing is so tiny you wouldnt be able to charge more than a single LED off of it.

They already have consumer solar panels like that have battery storage and the like, most of them are greater than 1sq foot and they still take FOREVER to charge. Ive looked into them many times for backpacking and festivals but they cost well over 150 bucks for a good one and even then they arent worth it.

Just get a few battery banks (20k mah arent too pricy now days, maybe 50usd) and charge them up before you go wherever you want to go.
