So, sims 4 broke my ssd, now I cant do anything on it. And I'm looking for the cheapest SSD from a reputable brand and this lexar ssd seems to have good reviews and a cheap price tag. Is this a good ssd?

So your SSD broke, and your solution is to get the CHEAPEST SSD?

if you want the CHEAPEST, buy those Chinese knockoffs like Kingspec. They use NAND and controllers rejected by brand names. Can't get cheaper than rejected hardware

typically a videogame won't effect hardware as such , did you try fixing the drive you have?

How did it do that? Revenge for making all your sims drown in a pool?

It didn’t literally break my PC—it just froze. When I restarted it using Ctrl + Alt + Del, it got stuck on the motherboard splash screen and wont boot into windows.

I tried fixing it by wiping the drive since I don’t have anything important on it, but even after that, the Windows installer kept showing error code 0x80070001.

did you attempt to remake the installer media or are you sure the drive was actually formatted correctly back to being unpartitioned and unallocated?

Sims didn't break your pc. Sims freezing was the result of the ssd dying, not the cause of it.

why not get an established brand for peace of mind and reliability ?

you buy a China brand and when it breaks down - you'll be kicking yourself for buying it.........

Ive done it and it says I cant download windows because its using mbr and not gpt. How do I fix that?

What do you mean by downloading? Anyone can download the iso from MS in a browser. Use Rufus to create the medium.

Tons of tutorials what settings to use in Rufus.

I can download the installation media on a USB just fine. The problem is that when I boot into the USB to install Windows, it says I can't install it on my SSD because it's using MBR instead of GPT.
