I just watched a video by Salem Techsperts on ANG and its ability to water proof laptops / electronics. I admit the video seems to simplify the complexity of manufacturing and the costs associated with adding extra steps during manufacturing but I was curious what the community thought, I am kinnda intriuged, maybe linus could mention on WAN show seeing as this seems right up Frameworks ally?

I agree, the idea is brilliant and the fact that it's tried and true in the automotive industry makes it all the more exciting and basically a no-brainer for Framework, I just hope that actnano is willing to work with Framework, given that they are stupidly small compared to the heavy hitters in the laptop space. I'd be so happy to hear Linus talk about it on the WAN Show or mention it to Nirav Patel.

I imagine that the mentioned cost of $1 per PCB only holds true for large scale production, such as automotive, so I think it would either be more expensive for Framework to implement or actnano would have to make the partnership with Framework purely for exposure and get no profit at all or even lose a little. Frankly though, I hope that actnano uses the resources they acquired by killing it in the automotive industry to "sponsor" Framework to add it in their laptops.

Yes I saw this and came to share the word.

I hope others jump on this bandwagon.  Please cover this on WAN Show. 🙏🏼

20 and 14 years ago sending your electronics to a company to waterproof the circuit boards and smartphone internals was a niche "thing" briefly, sort of. I think Linus did a video then.
