My little brother PC has :

-4gb of ddr3

The problem is that an Nvidia cmd command promy opens random times and I don't really know how to get rid off it, I tried reinstalling the drivers and it didn't worked. I reinstalled windows and it still didn't worked. Can you help me guys?

First of all, I wouldn't recommend using Windows 7 today if you plan to do internet activity. You could install a very stripped down version of Windows 10, or inherit absolute superiority by installing GNU/Linux (Wine/Proton got you covered, trust me).

Trying again with DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller), and re-install properly. And make sure you have the proper driver.

Also make sure you are not infected in any way.

PLEASE MARK COMMENTS AS SOLUTION IF SATISFIED!!

superior by only being "able" to play "based" games?

i tried uninstalling drivers using DDU and then install the latest 500 series drivers but the prompt still appears

https://www.malwarebytes.com/

install this to check for malware, before running malwarebytes scan, run this:

https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/rkill/ (this should take like max 1 min to do it's thing, or less than minute)

To check for malware.

  • If you want to check for the other potential culprit, look inside Program Files, Program Files (x86) and AppData, if you can find Nvidia folders.

Other things that could be looked for are, Nvidia and other services running.

As well as looking in Task Scheduler, which apps have automatic launch.

ae ae, don't blame Linux for that.

I meant that there are still a lot of other games you could play. And I don't usually tell people to completely drop Windows, I just encourage them to daily drive GNU/Linux.

Plus OP is using a very old system, they can't even play the games you mentioned. And obviously going Linux is much better than using Windows 7 today. I bet a lot of those games you mentioned are already unsupported for Windows 7.

Yeah, I'd agree with the stripped down Windows version, what was the right way to do it?

I assume using Rufus tool can be the simplest method, though it may strip down "less amount", didn't use it yet, so I can't really know.

What? Rufus has no such feature or at least, nothing significant for de-bloating.

I could talk for hours but just simply, first you could use NTLite to strip a LOT (the amount of control it gives you is crazy, but sadly a lot of them require a paid license) of components from the Windows ISO.

If you want to do it a simpler way, you could install Windows normally, then do various optimizations and de-bloating such as -

  • Run CTT debloat tool
  • Disable Startup services
  • Put many services that are not needed to disable or manual (CTT debloat does this but there are many more). Make sure to not mess with important services.
  • On a frequent basis, run "chkdsk C:" (/F to actually fix), "sfc /scannow", "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" (I like to run /ScanHealth first instead of /RestoreHealth), run Windows updates, and then run automatic system maintenance. Also update MS Store apps.
  • Disable automatic updates and automatic maintenance. But then make sure to manually carry out these tasks. Install Winaero Tweaker which lets you do a lot of things such as these easily and many other tweaks.
  •  Defrag/TRIM
  • delete temp folders
  • Disable Defender (controversial, but improves performance significantly)
  • A weird optimization, but the PC Health Check app from MS has a memory cleaning option which somehow decreases memory usage instantly (it probably fills up gradually back). RAMMap Tool also does something similar. It can immediately decrease memory usage significantly by purging memory cache (which is good to clear once in a while if you are not restarting), and system and program working sets, but they will fill up back gradually.
  • Lastly, wipe you drive and install GNU/Linux.

very minimum, I guess it's not even a de-bloat, but it's still a nice to have, on top of de-bloat that could follow:

That's pretty cool, but is there a "middle" tool, that lets you do lot of de-bloat, with bit of customization, without having to check every little box whether you want that feature or not?
