Laptop Mod/Build?

Can I buy a laptop motherboard with the correct heat sinks and processor ect. and use it like a desktop sort of with a Keyboard, Mouse, and Monitor connected by usb? Would it need the lcd screen that comes with it as well as the keyboard and touchpad?

The monitor would have to be connected by VGA or HDMI, not USB (obviously)..

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Are you going to use a PC case or a custom one? This is what you might be looking for 

OR  if you want to get creative and build a custom case for it you might want to take a look at this

It works OP, I did this for a little while to export my account when I broke my laptop. Tore the screen off and damaged the keyboard and touchpad where they weren't even recognized.
