Been rewatching some older content and came across the video where Linus announced plans for LTT Labs back in the day.

I'm particularly interested in tested optical HDMI cables (looking to buy one <10K) and this kind of independent testing facility would have been perfect for getting reliable data on different brands and models.

Questions for the community:

  1. Does anyone know what happened to the LTT Labs project?
  2. Can anyone recommend a reliable optical HDMI cable under 10K based on actual testing/experience?

From what I understand, optical HDMI is crucial for longer runs while maintaining signal quality (which I need for my home theater), but there's so much variance in pricing and quality claims from different manufacturers. Would really appreciate some real-world feedback from users here.

Thanks in advance!

This is the "older" content I meant.

they're probably working on it, along with douzens of other projects, based on which has the highest priority.
