EKWB Alternatives

Hi guys,

 

So, my 9800X3D finally came into stock but as I was calling the retailer to ask why the rest of the order hadn't shipped, they told me the damned EK Water Block that I ordered was still showing as out of stock and they warned me that due to recent EK woes, they didn't have a firm restock date but told me 30th of Jan had been pencilled in.

 

While I'm gonna hold out until the end of the month, it would be good to know if anyone here has any suggestion on an alternative that I might have missed.

 

I'm UK based (OCUK order) so UK and EU supply is fine and I have family in the US so getting something parcelled up and sent across the pond is also a possibility.

 

Not fan of either Alphacool or Corsair blocks as they are too small looking. Kinda like the chucky look of EKs stuff.

 

Bykski look too futuristic

 

BarrowCH products are hard to come by here and their product page has way too many contradictory product specs for my liking.

 

Any other ideas would be welcome.

I would use same brand stuff for all of the cooling. In guess you just have to wait. I just got alphacool watercooling stuff and it works top notch.

Probably what I'll end up doing.

 

Might be a while until I do my next build (after this one) but I've always had my eye on Alphacool so will probably look at making the switch to them then.

Yeh, his stuff is pretty cool but not sure if I want to go and delid my new cpu. 

 

Am I correct in saying his stuff is all direct-die?

 

Not that I haven't done it before but nowadays I water cool purely for looks and a think its fun over performance.

Isn't compatible with 7000x3D too, not sure about 9800x3d btw...
