The 5070 is not out yet and nobody actually knows how it performs, nor what price it will actually be available at.

Should I upgrade from the 7800 xt to the new 5070? I wanna know if the price to perf is worth it as I wanna get into RT and am willing to sell my 7800 xt.

As said, no one knows yet.

Why do you want to get into RT?  It's not like AI or ML, it's nothing more than a graphical trick.  Not any better than Lumen or other implementations.  Definitely not worth a small upgrade in cards.

The phrasing "get into RT" is confusing to me.

Ray tracing is just a graphical feature, implemented in some games and not implemented in others. it isn't something you "get into" like a hobby, it's not something you do.

Most likely it will not actually be available for $549.

The AIB versions of the cards are always more expensive, and the quoted MSRP now is before any new tariffs come into effect.
