Pc keeps crashing - HELP!

hi all,

 

my pc keeps randomly crashing with black screen and the fans go crazy.

 

I have just tried a fresh windows install, and updated all the drivers for the gpu, bios update, windows update,

 

when I look at event viewer the last error appears to be this:

 

 

I am running windows 10 with the below specs

 

i7-6700k

hyper x 16gb ddr4 2400mhz

1080ti

z-170e MOBO

 

any help would be greatly appreciated

OK, PSU should be fine probably.

Have you stress-tested the GPU? 3DMark or something similar?

I'm not sure the error you've posted is responsible for your PC crashing. Try this instead and choose critical error: 

Event Viewer -> windows logs -> System. Right click and choose filter current log. Under event level, toggle critical.  And choose logged: 24h for example if it happened within the last 24h. Press OK. then if you have had critical logs it'll show up. If nothing is shown, choose another event level or more, error for example. Post your findings here.
