What do you need such a powerful GPU for in a NAS? I get hardware video transcoding, but that's killing a fly with a bazooka. You'd probably be just fine with a newer, cheaper card like an ARC A310.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.

I am loving that lone comma in there 🙂
So you're looking for recommendations for something that won't cage your graphics cards.  Are you asking us to recommend a better PSU?  Maybe a better motherboard?  How do you have 74.5GB of RAM?

But I'm just talking out my ass.

i use it to upscale old anime videos with a lil bit  trascoding with when if  you think thats realy over kill ill take ideads i havn't really looked at used gpus latelty

A 12 gig RTX 3060 would work for upscaling. Obviously not as fast as an A4500, but it should be an order of magnitude faster than the M40 (which lacks Tensor cores). The much more recent generation NVENC is a nice bonus, too.

What program do you use for upscaling? Unless it needs the pro features a rtx card is likely much faster for the money.
