I have a 7800x3d. I have a Corsair h150i. Am5 contact frame from thermal grizzly and there thermal paste. a lancool 3 case. And a 4080 GPU. When I ran cinebench r23 I got up to 88c but in cyberpunk at 4k medium ray tracing I am getting 74c and idle is 48-55c

Yes, that's pretty normal temp, although it's a bit higher than mine living in a humid and hot equator

Best you can do is some 20-30 PBO undervolt to reduce a bit of heat. Otherwise, there's no problem on your CPU and the cool CPU cooler

My System: Ryzen 7800X3D // Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX // 32GB 6000MHz DDR5 Silicon Power Zenith CL30 // Sapphire Pulse AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT OC with mod heatsink on the metal plate  // Phanteks P300A  // Gigabyte Aorus GEN4 7300 PCIE 4.0 NVME // Kingston NV2 Gen4 PCIE 4.0 NVME //

Seasonic Focus GX-850 Fully Modular // Thermalright Frost Spirit 140 Black V3 // Phanteks M25 140mm // Display: Bezel 32MD845 V2 QHD // Keychron K8 Pro (Mod: Gateron black box ink; Tape mode on PCB and Keycaps) // Razer Cobra Wired Mouse // Audio Technica M50X Headphone // Sennheiser HD 650 // Genius SP-HF180 USB Speaker //

And Laptop Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 for mobility

Phone:

iPhone 11 (with battery replaced instead of buying new phone for long term and not submitting (fully) to Apple Lord

if im not in a humid/dry area shouldnt i be a bit cooler in temps? i just dont want any issues. not sure if its a thermal paste issue or the contact frame, but i tought it was like 5c less before that....

Around 50 is a pretty normal temp and under stress like in Cinebench again around 90 its also pretty normal.

Also if you arent in a humid or dry enviroment where are you? its either one or the other, either you have moisture in the air or you dont but thats neither here nor there.

Anywho, if those idles creep up to 65 or 70 and under stress you surpass 100 THATS thermalthrottling and you need help although for it to previsously have been running cooler although unlikely its probably cause the paste was fresh-er and maybe more able to transfer heat in theory but even now you are well withing normal temps and dont need to worry

I edit my posts for so if you saw a typo.... no you didn't, you are just crazy

Have you put a negative PBO offset? Will improve performance and drop temps at the same time

System specs:

CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D [-30 PBO all core]

GPU: Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX NITRO+

Motherboard: MSI MAG B650 TOMAHAWK WIFI

RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO RGB 32GB 6000MHz CL32 DDR5

Storage: 2TB SN850X, 1TB SN850 w/ heatsink, 500GB P5 Plus (OS Storage)

Case: 5000D AIRFLOW

Cooler: Thermalright Frost Commander 140

PSU: Corsair RM850e

Case Fans: Fractal Prisma (120 x6, 140 x3) + 2x40mm fans

I got a CPU Temp on the OLED Display of my ROG Strix x299-E Gaming II motherboard of 93C. Running a Cascade Lake-X Core i9 10920X 12C/24T @ 4.8 GHz All Core 1.290V VCore... Multi Score 18038

That's about the limit I want to push my CPU using a Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT to cool it...

I know I really should use HWInfo to track temps and voltages... my next step.

Intel Core i9 10920x CPU; ASUS ROG Strix x299-E Gaming II Motherboard; 64 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 MHz Quad Channel Kit; EVGA RTX 3070 XC3 ULTRA Gaming 8 GB; 2 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD & 1 TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe m.2 SSD; 1 TB WD Blue SATA SSD; 2x 6 TB HGST DeskStar NAS Hard Drives; Corsair iCUE H150i RGB PRO XT All In One Cooler; Corsair RM1000x 1000 Watt PSU; Corsair Commander Pro Lighting & Fan control; 4x Corsair HD120 RGB 120 mm fans - Intake ; Lian Li 011-Dynamic Razer Edition cube case, Windows 11 Pro 24H2
