Budget (including currency):

$2000 Australian Dollarydoos.

Country: Australia

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:

Visual Studio, OverWatch, Half-Life 3, Cities Skylines, Fallout 76

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Keeping

Node 202 case (1000w modular gold PSU)

2x 120mm Notica case fans

1tb NVME

2x 240gb SATA SSD

Maybe my 1070GTX?

32GB DDR3

1440P monitor

KB, mouse, USB headset

I need at least 5 rear USB-A ports, and support for front panel audio, and 2 USB 2.0

I suspect my CPU has died (a side effect of the Microcode issue recently) - its an 9900k, I bought it for AVX2, and 32 threads primarily for Visual Studio compiling - so am looking for a beefy core machine, and something that should last me for the next 10 years.

Help me find a CPU and Mini AT-motherboard that will fit in my Fractal Design Node 202, air-cooled.
