Hi all,

I'm in the process to speccing up a new desktop because my laptop of about 7/8 years is on its last legs. I've been looking at two (quite different) cases:

- Jonsbo D41 Screen - because the child inside me likes the idea of the screen displaying diagnostic data/whatever else, and the Hyte Y70 touch is about 6x the price where I am.

- Montech King 95 Pro - I like the look of the case, looks like there's lots of space in it.

Obviously the Montech is a big boy, while the Jonsbo seems a much more compact little unit, but I was wondering if all that extra air space in the Montech translates to better cooling outcomes? Does it make a difference? Does having all that empty air improve cooling performance noticeably? Or does it mean you've got to put more effort into moving all that air for heat transfer in the case?

I was planning on air cooling, and my current plans re: CPU/GPU are either a 7800X3D or a 9800X3D and a 7900XTX, with a Deepcool AK620 Digital to cool the CPU (yes, another temperature display).

Any guidance/thoughts/alternatives would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Naturally you have to continuously replace the air in the case or it would just keep getting warmer.

You can configure fans and speeds in multiple ways and everyone else is doing essentially the same thing.

My best advice is build what makes you happy.

If you're interested in a product please download and read the manual first.

if done right a smaller case can work but hard to do it right.  the bigger case makes it so you can add more fans for more air or lower speeds as fewer fans. can have bigger rads and aios.

there is demising returns on how may fans and some case can interfear with each other.

I have dyslexia plz be kind to me. dont like my post dont read it or respond thx

also i edit post alot because you no why...

Yes, yes, yes and not really. Refer to what my buddy, @thrasher_565 wrote.

Smaller cases limit most everything, although not as badly as a laptop.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂
