The computer I have now is a Dell Inspiron 2n1 laptop from 2020. It has an integrated graphics system (CPU does cpu work plus gpu work) and runs essentially nothing in the way of gaming nor work programs like revit. So it is about time I upgrade, not doing it because of the sales, but now might be an opportune time to do what I already need to do

I see, I didn't quite get that from your original post. Okay then.

Well, here's what I could gather up.

PCPartPicker Part List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/ZHHyfd

Now as you said, you wanna stay up to date, so AM5 is to go for you.

The budget's pretty tight for a future-proof build with a gpu, so instead, i opted for the 8600g. It should be plenty for warships and other similar light games. And if you ever need more horsepower, you can slap a GPU in afterwards.

Budget ($<=$850):

Country: USA

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games such as world of warships and for work (running things like REVIT, Excel, etc)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Looking for suggestions on what to buy given the black friday sales. 2-monitor system with a computer I could upgrade to stay up to date. I woudl liek to be able to stay up to date rather than fall behind with system after system. Considered a laptop but that makes upgrading more difficult. Please give suggests, I unfortunately do not know what I am looking at online. Thank you for any help/suggestions/adivce you can give

Personally, I think it's a bad reason to upgrade.
World of warships will run on a potato.
Unless you plan on getting into tripple A gaming, or having high cpu usage workloads, honestly just save your money. Just cause it's a black friday doesn't mean you need to empty your wallet to just get a deal.

Is this what you have? Or what you want?

How are you going to  be using your computer? it's kind of hard to suggest a max of $850 build without knowing. As the suggestion would either prioritized gpu or cpu. Also does the $850 includes the 2 monitor? If not what size and resolution do you prefer them?

Honestly, I would just suggest a mini pc with an AMD 7000 series APU at least. But you want something you can upgrade, so you really do need desktop parts.

Well I was thinking single monitor and then I could always pick one up down the road. But as far as usage it really would be mixed use. Some games but also for when I work from home. I'd be using to for anything from world of warships to REVIT to Excel worksheets. Still if the budget isnt there how far out of the reasonable range am I?

This would probably the best choice for now with upgradability option. Parts where chosen to fit the budget, like the ram and psu. You can get a lower end motherboard, but that's a good price for that quality. You can just upgrade your cpu down the line to a higher end one or new generation and not worry it power delivery would be an issue. For now you can use the cooler that comes with the cpu. As for the GPU, with the monitor included in the budget the highest you could really get is a 6600/6600xt/6650xt brand new. But you can also check the used market to get a same or better gpu at max of $100 less. With that savings you can get two monitors instead of one or just get a 6700xt/6750xt.

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-Core Processor  ($178.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX ATX AM5 Motherboard  ($139.99 @ Amazon)

Storage: TEAMGROUP T-FORCE G50 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive  ($52.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: XFX Speedster SWFT 210 Core Radeon RX 6650 XT 8 GB Video Card  ($230.62 @ Amazon)
Case: Cougar Archon 2 Mesh RGB ATX Mid Tower Case  ($53.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: MSI MAG A650BN 650 W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ Amazon)

Honestly my only bother is the ram, cl38.... Otherwise, yeah this is good, maybe get a better know SSD like a NV2 from kingston.

Now yes, I am 50 bucks over, however:
you have an actual GPU now.

Best ram that is stable for AM5
Gold 750W PSU.

But to be really honest, WoW isn't that thirsty, an APU or, hell, even just the iGPU on the 7600, will do fine. Sure, you will probably have to crank it to medium settings on it, but if you don't want to do that, get the 8600G

If you pick what you want now, you're doing Black Friday the wrong way.

In order to get the most out of the deals, you have to have a rough idea of what you want, and then pick what's on the best sale.

Like, you want a 2TB NVME drive, so you pick the one with the best spec and lowest price.

If you go in with specific parts, you're likely not going to have a very great time.

As for the ram, in my opinion, for the current budget, 10ns vs 12.667ns first word latency isn't worth it at $10 extra. As for the ssd, teamgroup is a solid brand. Just more known in asia, so more affordable at the same quality.
