Overview:

I am looking into new mice, especially with Black Friday deals that have been posted. I currently have a SteelSeries Rival 600 mouse. I have the weights put in it to make it 120g. I would like to have a mouse that can be wireless or wired depending on the feel, that way if I don't have time to charge the battery, I can still use it. Each of these options allow for that. Below are some measurements of my hand and mice.

My Hand

Length: 20 cm

Width: 11 cm

SteelSeries Rival 600 - Rival 600 Gaming Mouse | SteelSeries
Length: 131mm

Width: 69mm rear, 62mm mid & front
Height: 43mm rear, 27mm front
Weight: 120g
Pros: I like the feel, size, and weight of the mouse.
Cons: Side grip falls off and has to be glued back on, wired only, only 3 side buttons.

SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless - Aerox 9 Wireless | Lightweight Wireless MMO & MOBA gaming mouse | SteelSeries

Length: 128.5mm

Width: 69.3mm rear, 63.9mm mid, 63.4 front
Height: 42.2mm rear, 28.1mm front
Weight: 89g
Pros: Very similar size to my Rival 600. Wireless and wired capable. 12 side buttons for games like WOW
Cons: Side button layout different from rival 600, I am used to only using two side buttons. Not sure how I will like the feel of mouse given that it is not solid top.

Razer Naga V2 Pro - Buy Razer Naga V2 Pro | Gaming Mice | Razer.com

Length: 119.5mm

Width: 75.5mm
Height: 43.5mm
Weight: 134g
Pros: Wireless and wired capable, three different side button options including for games like WOW and my current 2 side button config.
Cons: Heavier than my current mouse, I am worried it is too short for my palm grip, price.

Razer Naga V2 Hyperspeed - Buy Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed | Gaming Mice | Razer.com

Length: 119.5mm

Width: 75mm
Height: 43.5mm
Weight: 95g
Pros: Wireless and wired capable, price, 12 side buttons.
Cons: Side button layout different from rival 600, I am used to only using two side buttons, I am worried it is too short for my palm grip.

My Thoughts:

Based on my research, I think I should go for the SteelSeries Aerox 9 Wireless. I am already familiar with SteelSeries mice, my headphones are SteelSeries so I wouldn't need an extra software I don't already use, the size is very similar to my current mouse. I think I can get used to the new side button layout and the feel of the honeycomb-like pattern. However, I would love to hear everyone's thoughts taking all of this information into account.

The Aerox 9 Wireless is similar in size to your old mice and is way lighter. It will be much easier to move around, and razer products don't last very long and don't have the best software. This is more of a personal preference, and you might want to keep your old button layout. However, it seems like you also think that the Aerox 9 is the best based on your research, and I do think you will get used to it, maybe not immediately. Those buttons can be very useful for RPG games. The only downside is that honeycomb mice can sometimes get a bit dirty, but it's not a huge issue, and it doesn't prevent me from recommending them to others. I hope this helps!

The Logitech G305 has always been my go-to for claw grip style gaming. The G309 is even lighter at 86g with AA battery, or 68g if using the Powerplay wireless charging option (requires the special mouse mat for $99 more)

I had looked at this mouse actually; I would like to try the multiple buttons on side and I think the mouse is to short. I don’t want to deal with swapping batteries out which is why it didn’t make my list.

i think I am going to go with the steelseries Aerox 9 wireless, but I do appreciate your feedback!

All modern gaming mice are generally efficient. The G305 for example will last literally months on a single AA battery! It's not an issue if you're already invested in rechargeable mAh batteries, and you can find named brand cells and a wall charger cheap (consider a kit if this is your first time purchasing rechargeables).

The good news is you're not locked into proprietary built-in lithium batteries, and can swap out a AA real fast if needed. The down-side is you have to purchase them and they're heavier than the batteries built into the mouse. So, trade offs are to be had regardless of which direction you want to go.

No problem. You can't go wrong with the Aerox 9 wireless, it's a good choice if you prefer the features of it.

Man that's a brick you have there. Anyway that Aerox is not bad shape wise, if you don't mind hole design and want many side buttons mouse. I play WoW and never really use buttons on mouse. And this one is not too heavy.
