I was going to buy the 7800XT nitro+ (if I don't find a good used deal for something else), but I found the hellhound spectral white and I really like how it looks, mainly how it's almost entirely white. I've looked up a test, and it somehow outperforms the nitro+? This doesn't make sense to me, as it's same length, but a 2 slot card vs the 3 slot nitro+

The GPU manufacturing brand plays a small role in the actual GPU itself. And the performance difference is very minimal. Do you mean in thermals? They might just be using more efficient cooling methods, but it's interesting how much cooler it is. Whatever it is, the hellhound is a great card, and the nitro isn't much different.

Make sure to mark solutions, as it helps us find people who need help faster. Thanks!

Different factory, different OC, different specific GPU die with different efficiency and voltage and OC capability, etc.

Comparing brands in GPUs doesn't really do much.

current PC:

Ryzen 5 5600 |16GB DDR4 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1080 ti [further details on my profile]

PC configs I used before:

  1. Pentium G4500 | 4GB/8GB DDR4 2133Mhz | H110 | GTX 1050
  2. Ryzen 3 1200 3,5Ghz / OC:4Ghz | 8GB DDR4 2133Mhz / 16GB 3200Mhz | B450 | GTX 1050

True, they do have different performance, but as the test shows the difference between AMD reference card and the nitro+ is still huge

Yeah because Nitro has 3 fans instead of 2 and the GPU probably boosts similar to Ryzen

Someone just found out that reference cards come with conservative settings and poorer cooling solution

Not all, but primarily AMD cards, because the 40 series FE cards are pretty good, I replied with the differences, because podkall said that comparing different GPU brands doesn't make sense, which I disagree

Legit. AMD designed the reference cooler to perform good enough for the rated GPU spec, not go hard on cooling/noise performance.

I still can't understand how hellhound is cooler than the nitro+, while having a smaller cooler

🤷‍♂️ Better engineered maybe, TUF is smaller than Nitro+ as well but perform better. YMMV though.

Fastest road legal car on the Nurburgring use 1.6L engine so bigger doesn't always mean better.

it's 1.6l, but there are *four* additional electro engines...

you can't get 1000hp out of 1.6l, i don't think... 🙂

Yes. Each motor produced like 200hp iinm. 🤣

There is a 3 cylinder 1.6L 600hp GR Yaris though.
