PC part upgrades

I just bought a new motherboard and cpu and i was wondering if i need to reinstall windows or something else before hand.

 

(Going from a Ryzen 5600x to a Ryzen 7 9700x)

It would be nice if you did, but no, it should work. Strongly advised to create backups of everything important to you.

 

Note that the use of bitlocker is a special case and much more care needs to be taken.

Windows is very adaptable so you should be fine but I do recommend reinstalling to be 100% sure things is working correctly.

I personally always reinstall windows when I upgrade motherboard and CPU.

 

Oh and congrats on the new upgrade!  Thats quite a nice performance bump

I love my AM5 system, I'm sure you will too!

I just ran in to a problem every thing is running but no display is showing
