I have a Thermaltake Urban T81 case and like to leave the bay door shut.  The case has some slits on the sides of the door and below the door to allow air to come into the case.  I'm intending to replace the stock 200 mm fans with some quieter fans, but should I get static pressure optimized or air flow optimized fans for this setup?

SP sounds like the best option.

Wonderful.  SP it is then!

Especially if there are drive cages behind the fans, I would also agree with static pressure optimized fans.

But, keep in mind.. The larger the fan the more air it brings in.. Considering the front fan is used for Intake, wouldn't you want the most air possible in there? For example, a 200mm fan. So that would be the only thing I would recommend - keep the size, SP or not.

The case comes with two stock 200mm fans for front intake and supports three 120mm or 140mm fans in their place.  I eventually want to switch to a water-cooled system, so having those smaller SP fans would be beneficial for use on any radiator I put there.

that case uses 2c200mm fans. so if you can find some that size optimized for static pressure, thats what you should do.

unless your thinking about replacing them with the corsair sp series fans, which only come in 120mm, you would need like 3 of them, which would be louder, not actually push as much air, and be more expensive than its worth

Even though replacing them with three 120mm fans wouldn't bring in as much air, the case does support fans on the bottom, which I have not installed.  Additionally adding fans there could help bring in more air.

I was thinking about replacing them with those fans, particularly the quiet edition.  The stock ones I have I think are too loud, so I hope any "quiet" fan will do better.

It's not ONLY about just "bringing in more air".. It's the whole airflow system that you should worry about. Just because your case has 32 fans, if you have a negative airflow going on, my case with 5 fans would have better airflow in general.

If you have 3 120mm fans on the front, one on the bottom, 2 on top, 1 on rear - In 90% of chassis - the bottom one will actually be harming the airflow.

So keep that in mind.

I wouldn't reccomend them, even the quiet edition fans are not very quiet, Depending on where you are the price fluctuates alot, but i would say get some noiseblocker blacksilent pros instead.

AF and SP are both bad fans. AF doesn't move much air and SP is loud. Corsair fans were over hyped, they're decent fans at best. Choose better fans, you

re not gonna see much of an improvement from the stock fans you already have.
