I have a 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 Corsair Vengeance RGB (CMR16GX4M2C3200C16 v4.31)running on Gigabyte Z370 Gaming 7 with Core i5 9600K

I run Thaiphoon Burner and it says the DRAM manufacturer is Samsung and Part Number is K4A8G085W[B/C/D]-BCPB

I also tried seeing the actual Memory IC and it says

SEC 728

K4A8G08

5WBBCPB

GEEK939WC

I don't know if it is a Samsung B-Die or something else

I currently have it overclocked at DDR4 3800 18-22-22-40 1.35v.

I tried DDR4 4000 22-26-26-52 1.35v, but it did not even POST.

3200MHz rated RAM isn't supposed to work at 3800, and has nearly no chance to run 4000 even with loosened timings

I'd try to run it at 3600CL16, or 3600CL18, if you run 3800CL18 you're likely at the max you can get

it's not bdie

also seems you already found the max... i recommend testing for any clock stretching etc, just because it's "fast" doesn't necessarily mean more performance,  might be the poor memory controller is overburdened etc.

ps: btw you can always tell if it's ddr4 bdie at the default timings,  bdie is always 14-14-14, 16-16-16, etc

It looks like the max speed I can do is DDR4 3800

I was able to improve the sub timings and I try to change 1 setting at a time and stress test for at least 10 mins with TM5 Anta777 Extreme config.

I raised the voltage to 1.4v so it is fully stable at tCL 16.

I also found that without a FAN the ram sticks goes to 50c and I get errors so I added a FAN and now the ram sticks are below 40c and seems to be fully stable

I tried tCL 15 with 1.45v, but it won't even POST

I also tried tREFI at 65534, but it won't POST

I also tried tRFC at 280, but it won't POST

I also tried tRRD_S at 4, but it won't POST

I also tried Command Rate at 1, but it won't POST

I might try to see if I could lower tRDRD_sg to 5, tWR to 6.

I also heard tXP at 4 could cause stuttering so I will probably stick to 6

With the i7-9600K, you are probably better to run it at DDR4-3200 / 3400 / 3600 and try to reduce the timings even more (e.g. CL14, etc).

DDR4-3800 or DDR4-4000 with loose timings would hurt performance.
