I'm currently attempting to add additional monitors to the worksite computers. These are micro-PC's running windows 11, and have Intel UHD display chipset. Let me know what other specifications are necessary, but considering the maker hasn't listed the model number anywhere, there's difficulty in locating the specific one without going all the way back through procurement orders.

I've been asked to test for if this is possible before we can get funding for it. The computer uses a chipset for micro-PC's and has a HDMI and DP output. When connecting a cord to the DP, device monitor fails to update, and windows cannot detect an additional display. In lowest to highest cost order, what steps should I consider?

First step should be check the bios, see if there is a setting that turns off or limits which display port works.

What CPUs are they running?  chances are the UHD graphics are built on to them.  The CPU model will let us look up the UHD model and find out if it's even compatible with multiple displays

With all the Trolls, Try Hards, Noobs and Weirdos around here you'd think i'd find SOMEWHERE to fit in!

The limitation of number of monitors is a design choice from the manufacturer and usually implemented in BIOS.

The UHD graphics can drive 2 or 3 monitors easily but that doesn't means that the BIOS allows it.

Do you know how to boot into BIOS mode ? You usually press a key (like F2 or Delete) right after you turn on the computer. The you'll have some menus with options. Look for one named "Multi-monitor support" or something similar.

Good luck !

Nothing in Bios that seems to have that option. Spent some time looking through it.

That's a laptop part and may complicate things

That's what I had been worried about.

At this point we're considering USB to HDMI extensions for the computers. Considering the limitations of the computers themselves, I'm not seeing another option.
