Reflex Development Update #1

"A quick little preview to show some of the progress we've made in the last few months. Mostly tech updates, but the game is becoming playable."

Reflex's development continues and today they have blessed us with a sneak peak of what the game is going to be like. It appears like a fast pace shooter similar to the likes of quake with both bunny hopping and rocket jumping as key game-play mechanics.

That sure looks promising. As long as they go with more basic looking textures and very good lighting it should look really cool and apart from that it seems to behave just like Quake which is a good thing.

I hope they keep the textures clean but not as clean as they are in the video.

well is is very early alpha so it is a bit too early to judge it all. Still it looks very similar to quake... The engine is build form scratch and it is meant to replicate the early quake style of game play.  Hopefully they add some textures and make it more pretty.

yeah I hope quake devs sue them

Ironic shitposting is still shitposting

it's not shitposting, the game looks like quake, plays like quake, it is quake, just my opinion.

Ok, well, I like Quake...

It aims to replicate 90's shooters, I hope it plays like quake instead of just looking like quake and "copying" game play mechanics such as bhopping and rocket jumping.

Which is exactly why I'm so interested, I hope so too, I hope so.

A similar project, Reborn. It's lead by James 2GD Harding, a former pro Quake player.

Now THAT looks amazing. Atleast the ideas.
