Which solution is better ?

Hey, so right now I have a 2 TB Barracuda and a 3 TB WD RED Drive in my PC, before these HDD's i had others and ran into problems losing some of my data, etc. So I don't want to run into that again, so I came up with two solutions.

 

First Solution: Get another 2 TB Barracuda and another 3 TB WD RED, and run it in RAID 1 with the drives I have.

 

Second Solution : Get another 2 TB HDD, and another 3 TB HDD and a 2-bay NAS, and manually back up the storage on the ones I have in my computer into them. Every week or so.             

 

I am just trying to find a way where I don't resort in losing data. As I had one my HDD's fail on me and couldn't recover anything and one of them ended up getting corrupted and was a huge pain to recover the data. So, don't want to go through that again.

It sucks dude, thats why I built my raid 10 server with nightly backup, double drive protection, and all that then is constantly backing up 24/7 to cloud

 

I would recommend getting the NAS and have a nightly/weekly backup that way you have a second copy of all your data

an external storage and manually do a backup or setup a scheduled backup is your best option.

External storage would probably be your best bet and back up manually. May not be easiest, but definitely safest
