Hello community,

I'm currently on a hunt for a new monitor to replace my old Dell U2520D as my primary one. I plan to keep the Dell for a dual setup. For years, I’ve been using it for gaming at 1440p/60fps and for amateur photo editing, which has been sufficient after calibrating the display. But after the years, I’ve become more demanding, and with my new PC, I want a more modern alternative — something like an OLED, QHD, 27” monitor with a higher refresh rate and support to eliminate abominations like screen tearing. Basically, I’m looking for a modern panel with great image quality that’s good for gaming, media watching, and can be calibrated for productivity (photo/video editing).

My budget is around €700, and in the store where I shop, there’s a new ASUS XG27AQDMG available for €634. Some more expensive alternatives include Dell Alienware AW2725DF for €715, Samsung G6 - G60SD for €600, Gigabyte FO27Q3 for €796, and LG 27GS95QE-B for €739.

Are there better alternatives in this price range, or is it worth spending an extra €100 or so for something that offers significantly better image quality and build? Or is the discounted ASUS an ideal buy for this budget? Thanks!
