Hey there folks,

so I've build the following Computer in an H6 flow

Asrock B650e riptide Wifi

AMD 7800x3d

rtx4080Super

32gb ram g.skill trident

Nzxt Kraken 360 rgb

Yesterday everything ran totally fine and when I wanted to boot my Computer this morning it booted for a few seconds and then shut downed itself. The Kraken was telling me about the Water Temp going up - shut off at around 50 *C.

I did some digging and did a CMOS reset, now I could go beyond the log in screen, then shut off. Then I removed the Bios Battery for a few minutes and and tried again:

Now I don’t have a display on my GPU the ports all recognise if I plug something in but after a few seconds it's „no display“

So using hdmi into motherboard I looked into Bios (which was flickering and running at 5 fps). Everything seemed fine.

NZXT even recognised the pump but it only went max1700rpm.

I rebuilt everything but to no avail.

I even think I might have stressed the Mthboards GPU slot a bit too much but idk.

Maybe the Pump just died and I broke a lot more while in Panic mode…I got a research paper deadline and don’t want to/don't have time to start over…it’s saved in a Cloud with Hardware access key to my computer only (not smart, I now know)

I should mention that the last days were REALLY hot here and I gamed trough them. Room temp was at 36*C most of the time

In the Video the shutdown was right after I tapped in my password.

Edit2: the computer tried to restart itself the first three time but doesn’t even try that anymore.

all the parts are at max 1 year old.

Edit3: I broke off the Clip of the GPU slot…Guess I will need a new motherboard anyway now 😕

What's the PSU?
I assume this isn't BSODing but just straight shutting down.
Also, do you have a UPS? It could be dirty power from the wall due to AC sucking back a bunch of juice

Thats just an extras thing, if computer is steady and doesnt move much it can work without it.
My old computer that i put in the bedroom to watch movies on has the clip broken over 7 years ago, GPU still stays in, as long as you dont go play football with the case its fine.

Could you see CPU temp in BIOS, as most BIOSes have that now in their main screen. (High temp could give this result.)

As for the CPU, i would highly recommend checking the status of the cooling; thermal-paste. And if its correctly tightened.
Kinda sounds like bad past job, where CPU would expand when hot, then cool down and leave gaps. Gaps dont transmit heat...
Could also be failing pump or like you said the motherboard.
Edit: But also like @OddOod said, the PSU.

When i ask for more specs, don't expect me to know the answer!

First, thanks for the reply!

The PSU Is this one:

850 Watt be quiet! Pure Power 12 M Modular 80+ Gold

As far as I know we don’t have UPS system/outlets

And yeah, not once I had a BSOD.

Everything ran fine for about two months (new gpu, case and cooler).

I reapplied the Thermal Paste three times today (first wipedown was the stock paste from NZXT) and I was even more strict on tightening the screws evenly.

I will try to refund/replace the Kraken with warranty (Mindfactory) the PSU is really under high stress but it’s enough imo (I never overclock) but I'm also no expert.

I read temps of up to 102*C in Bios and shutdown at max 105*C (at least it still does emergency shutdowns xD )

oh yeah, the GPU doesn’t give display with or without clip since the CMOS reset, fans not even spinning right now and doesn’t recognise in NZXT Cam, maybe it’s really the PSU?

Yeah check your cooling.
Either the pump is broken or bad mount (can come loose overtime) or bad thermal paste.

Regarding that it worked fine the last one/two months at these outer temperatures it’s probably the pump?

I'd be very sus of power stability. Either dying PSU or unstable wall power.
If you've got a spare air cooler you can try on it you can eliminate thermal throttling as a factor

A UPS is never a bad investment, especially with an upper mid range PC like yours.

I still think its overheating since BIOS says 102C.

But you are definitly NOT wrong. PSU is most important part of PC!

Frack! Mixed up PSU and UPS! Edited to correctness
