New AIO Suggestions

nicksand

Hey everyone,

I'm looking at buying a new AIO for my 14900k. I've narrowed it down to a couple. I'm hoping someone has some insight on these coolers. I understand these have been talked about before but I'm looking for something a little more updated. Thanks.

1. Thermalright Forzen Notte 360

2. EK CR360

3. Arctic Liquid Freezer III

All 3 are very good choices. I personally use the Notte, although there are newer options from TR. The LF3 is one of the best for AMD, but not as good on Intel. EK CR360 is supposed to be really good for Intel, although the company is mafioso shady. There are others that are even better, like the Lian Li Galahad 2 Trinity Performance.

I've been using computers since around 1978, started learning programming in 1980 on Apple IIs, started learning about hardware in 1990, ran a BBS from 1990-95, built my first Windows PC around 2000, taught myself malware removal starting in 2005 (also learned on Bleeping Computer), learned web dev starting in 2017, and I think I can fill a thimble with all that knowledge. 😉 I'm not an expert, which is why I keep investigating the answers that others give to try and improve my knowledge, so feel free to double-check the advice I give.

My phone's auto-correct is named Otto Rong.🤪😂

this cooler for intel needs a mounting frame around the cpu and this has a offset mounting mechanism for the coldplate's contact with the cpu

I can't say how it compares to other AIOs, but I've been pleased with it. Kris has explained the problem with LF3 for Intel.

I've been using it for about a day now. It's great. Cooling is great, installation is a piece of cake, and RGB looks good. My temps are noticeably lower than with my Lian Li GA Trinity II 360. What stood out to me mainly was how easy the installation was. Everything is labeled, colored even, and the instructions are great.

Great! Let us know if you hear any harmonic resonance (a specific tone that seems to be generated by fans or pump), or anything else. I'm surprised it outdoes the GA2!

Fans do make a unique noise. Honestly cant even describe what it sounds like. I believe I was having pump issues with the GA2 even though I only had it about a year.

I've heard about pump problems before with GA2, often biofilm.

Doutful they would even offer a refund. Not in the mood to deal with warranty, especially requesting a full refund. Will just take the loss on this one, and only buy their cases. On cinabench it was a constant 100c, which I understand is fairly normal for the 14900k. But, while playing games temperature would always spike, and be much higher than it should be, comparatively speaking.

NO offense, but that is what they hope customers will do. It's your money, in the end.

Good point. Might actually consider it now. After all, it was like $120.
