Anyway, i was just wondering when changing the CPU is there anything software wise ill have to look out for? Bios updates etc or having to reinstall windows.

No, it should just be plug and play if you're using a 3rd gen bios and aren't changing your motherboard. Only thing I'd do is launch up CPU-Z to be sure it's a 3770k on the off chance you got a fake one (this is very rare, but it's easy to check so you might as well).

Recently bought a ‘new to me’ i7 3770k as it was the same socket type as my old CPU (i5 3570). I know the 3770k is an old platform but for all the system is used for it paired with more ram and a good SSD its all that i need. Anyway, i was just wondering when changing the CPU is there anything software wise ill have to look out for? Bios updates etc or having to reinstall windows. If so how do i go about this

Yeah this was the first thing i was planning on doing anyway! Got it off of a very reputable seller ive used before for siblings systems and theyve all been fine but youre right, never hurts to check!
