Budget (including currency): £500

Country: UK

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: World of warships, civil 6, gta5/6 (hopefully)

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Hi all, put this list together, already have the gpu so going to use that until I can save up to upgrade. Wanted to restrict to about £500 if possible but can go over a little as needed. Mostly for general computing, starting online Masters degree soon and do a little gaming on the side. Are there any clear bottlenecks (apart from gpu) or any places I have over specced and can pull back to bring down to budget without major drop in performance? Ideally want to keep a tb of storage if possible as do occasional basic video editing and storage.

Thanks in advanced

two things.

  1. Don't waste money on windows. Download their installer and put it on a 16gb+ flash drive. A license can be had for about $10-15 depending where you look.
  2. You'll want a larger PSU especially if you plan on upgrading your GPU down the line. 650w is fairly standard these days. 750w would leave you plenty of wiggle room. when it comes to PSU cheap is never a good option.

Idk what kind of computing you're planning on doing but 32gb might be a bit much and unless you're playing the most recent AAA games on MAX then 16gb would be more than enough. Though if you can get 32gb for that price then that's a pretty good deal. Otherwise everything else looks good.
