Don't use the adrenaline software for your 4090? It's not supported.

i was using it to update my cpu drivers but the issue is that i used the amd software installer

It shouldn't be a problem for your GPU if you download the driver for your 4090 on the official website and Nvidia control panel should pick it up correctly. It's fine for adrenaline software to pick it up since it tells you all your comments even if it's not AMD for example I have a i7 8700 and a RX 5500 XT when I unplug the RX 5500 XT it still picks up my i7 8700. This is what's happening to you.

This is a conflict between the onboard AMD Graphics on the Ryzen 7900X CPU and the RTX 4090.

I had the same problem with my own 7700x and RTX 4080.

Programs were detecting my Radeon graphics on the CPU instead of my RTX 4080.

This was solved by disabling the iGPU ( onboard graphics ) in the BIOS.

You are not the first to have this problem and this solution should fix it.

If you need help with this, please let me know.

Yup, this right here. I've worked on a few computers with this exact issue. Simply disabling the iGPU in the BIOS should fix it.

Main Desktop: CPU - i9-14900k | Mobo - Gigabyte Z790 Aorus Elite AX | GPU - PNY Gaming OC RTX 5080 16GB RAM - Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 64GB 6400mhz | AIO - Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360mm | PSU - Corsair RM1000X | Case - Hyte Y40 - White | Storage - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB Nvme /  Sabrent Rocket 4 Plus 4TB Nvme / Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2TB Nvme / Samsung 870 EVO 4TB SSD / Samsung 870 QVO 2TB SSD/ Samsung 860 EVO 500GB SSD|

sorry to waste your time but uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them has fixed all my issues, thankyou so much for your time

Alright cool!   I still had some issues after uninstalling the drivers so I do still recommend disabling the iGPU in the BIOS.

I had this issue with my 7900x and 7800x3D. You can simply just uninstall Adrenaline, its not necessary for updating any CPU drivers.

Disabling the iGPU entirely is ideal but I use mine.

Ryzen 7 7800x3D -  Asus RTX4090 TUF OC- Asrock X670E Taichi - 32GB DDR5-6000CL30 - SuperFlower 1000W - Fractal Torrent - Assassin IV - 42" LG C2 - Windows 11 Pro

will disabling igpu do anything other than stop integrated graphics?

Will i see more performance out of my cpu, will it disable anything else?

Theoretically it could help slightly but in reality there's no difference.

The onboard radeon gpu in your cpu has 2 cu's and is really only meant for general computer usage and not much else so you won't be missing out , to give you perspective on it's power level the 7900XTX has 96 cu's.

You would have to reset the BIOS but this can easily be done by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.

You can ALWAYS get your iGPU back 🙂
