My First Gaming PC

Budget (including currency): $2500 NZD

Country:  New Zealand

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Titles at high 1440p (Cyberpunk, Last of Us, Red Dead and more.), some light photo editing and 3d modelling.

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X or 8600g

MB: MSI 650M Gaming Plus Wifi mATX

RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36

Storage: Corsair P3 Plus 1TB

GPU: 4070 Super or 7900 GRE

PSU: Corsair SF850L SFX Power Supply

Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120

Case: Deepcool CH160

The reason I have the Ryzen 8600g is because I might just buy the GPU after 2-3 months because GPU prices in my country is ridiculous (example, 4070 Super retail price in the US is $580USD, here it’s about $720USD). Should I get the 7600X and just deal with its iGPU or go for the 8600g.

pcpartpicker is a mess for GPU's in NZ.  It doesn't come up with a single 7900GRE and the 4070 Super is $1125 cheapest.  Where are you buying from?

I would get the Ryzen 7600 is decently cheaper, it comes with a cooler and performs very near the 7600x.   If that allows the purchase of your 4070 Super now, then I would do that.

Either way, stay away from the 8600g, it's just not as good as the 7600 by 15% or more from what I have seen.

The 7900 GRE is available in Amazon AU at roughly the same as the 4070 super. I think I might just suffer with my PS5 for and wait until I could get a GPU.

Yes, I would as well.  When you can buy a complete system.

I didn't check Australia for pricing, I can do that.

I think you can get away under 2000AUD, (2200NZD) since you say you can get the 4070 Super cheaper...
