I’ve got a setup with an 1800x and a b350f Asus gaming mobo.

with a pair of 2400mhz ram, mobo suddenly stop posting and had the ram led issue.

pop a new pair of 3600mhz ram running default 2133. It post. So I thought the old ram was faulty. But I threw the 2400mhz ram onto a test system and they worked. Any ideas on this?

First generation Ryzen was very fussy with RAM. I'm not aware of an issue where it would stop posting, but I know that it could be hard to get it to work at times.

Have you updated the BIOS on your B350 board to the latest version? BIOS updates for AM4 really helped with RAM compatibility as time went on.

update bios resell that ancient 1800x and buy a 50$ used 3600(x) which will help with ram compatibility and also just be outright faster than the 1800x both single and multicore

yes i've updated the bios, still nothing. yea i do know changing the cpu is a way but the system is not mine. So im not sure if the user wants to upgrade something that he doesnt need to.
