Amazing build. The only thing I would do would be to swap the roles of the 980pro and the 970 evo for slightly faster boot times but the difference would be so marginal that it is not really noticeable.

imo space for games > boot time

Both would be nice, but OP has a 7800X3D anyway so boot times aren't a priority XD

were boot times ever a priority? what do you lose booting for few seconds longer anyways?

For me personally it's somewhat of a big deal, the difference between 5sec or less on intel processors with XMP and 30-60sec on Ryzen 7000 processors with EXPO.

I have this app on my phone that I use to turn on the PC that's connected to my TV, and I like that the experience is just as fast as my PS5. I press the button and I see my desktop right away and it's ready to go with the sign-in screeen disabled. I do remember a time when we used to press the power button on a beige chassis and go get some tea and come back. So to have that not be the case anymore is the type of quality of life I really appriciate.

I also have sign in screen disabled as boot time to desktop is no way 30 seconds or higher. I'll have to time to an exact number but guarantee not 30 seconds. As for EXPO it hasn't effected my boot times. I have certain PBO settings too if that as anything to do with it as well.

Defnitely 30sec has been almost the baseline with the ones I've seen EXPO enabled. Some can go up to a full minute. I'm also almost pretty certain EXPO increases the boot times and without EXPO you would probably be under 30sec. But I think it depends on what RAMs you have running as well and I think the faster the RAMs the longer the boot times.

Additionally, I've seen random memory training happen on boot at times.

I did time it today in fact it is 19.45 seconds from pushing power button to windows desktop. Plenty fast for me. So not 30sec. Expo enabled and PBO custom settings. This 30sec you talking about seems like another factor in play. As you said boot time not priority my main is performance, games maxing settings with RT on my QD-OLED the HDR and all.

Streaming and gaming is main use case.
