I chose the 780 Classified because it's $10 USD more expensive then the FTW edition on amazon currently. Though I'm not sure whether the PSU will be enough as it says on the EVGA website that the 780 needs 600w.

1. Budget & Location

I'm currently located in NRW, Germany. Budget is about 1200 Euros. I intend to purchase my graphics card from the States as it's $100 cheaper there and I have a mate coming to Europe to visit soon, so it works out well.

2. Aim
The aim of this system is to fulfill my need to game as much as I can. I don't intend to upgrade this system for the next 3-4 years, specifications should be strong enough. Hopefully. My games of choice are Watch_Dogs, Dota 2, Borderlands 2, Civ 5, Farcry 3 (and 4)  and Crysis 2. And also hope to have this as a Steam Box and HTPC hence the node 605.

3. Monitors
I have an Asus 1080p IPS and hope to have an additional 1080p in the next year or 1440p.

4. Peripherals
I have have a keyboard and mouse.

5. Why are you upgrading?
I'm currently using my laptop with a Nvidia 550m and want to be able to run games without the laptop overheating. Had the cpu running at a constant 95 Degrees Celsius until I changed the thermal paste. But I REALLY want to be able to max out games again without having to worry about my pc health.

I would go with higher wattage psu, like 750 watts or something like that just to be sure, and if you maybe want to upgrade something in a couple of years it's good to have.

Could I get away with a 600-650W PSU?

Something along the lines of the Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W? or the be quiet Dark Power Pro 650W?

Short answer: YES.

780's have a recommended of 600W. but they themself use around 260W on max usage. So add in that CPU (125W I think) and the fans and peripherals - and 600-650 will be just fine.

I seriously want to see this build when you're done! Been wanting to do the same for awhile (small, HTPC type build) - just can't justify the cost.

All the Haswell i5's are 84w TDP.

I agree, a good quality 80+ bronze 600w PSU would be fine.
