Upgrading my power supply

Terryownzz

Hi,

I have been using a Corsair Cx 600 v3 power supply for 1.5 years and everytime i load a game, it coil whines. So i decided to upgrade. i was planning to get the corsair ax760 or the ax760i, but i couldn't find a place that had it in stock in Sydney Australia and i wanted it today because i work 6 days 10am to 10pm (im a chef). i uploaded pictures of before and after the upgrade. Im planning to buy the corsair blue individually sleeved cable kit. I know 860w is overkill for my system but i wanted a 80+ platinum power supply and be able to buy the individually blue sleeved cable kit and not have to buy extension cables. Also i plan to upgrade my gpu and get sli or crossfire in the future.

My computer specs:

cpu: intel core i7 2700k overclocked to 4.2 ghz using oc genie

motherboard: msi z77 mpower

ram: 4gb kingston 1333mhz value ram

graphics card: gigabyte gtx 570 soc

power supply Corsair ax 860

sound card: asus essence stx

storage: 120GB Kingston hyperX 3k SSD

cpu cooler: corsair h60

case: coolermaster haf xm with side window

lighting: 2x bitfenix 60cm blue led strips

fans: 3x coolermaster blue led 200mm fans and 3x coolermaster sickleflow 120mm blue led fans.

You should consider getting a white led strip to light up you case, It brings out the beauty of build better than any color led could

Update:

I changed the 2 PCIE cables to the harness that has 2 6+2 pin connecters on 1 cable.

i changed the position of the harddrive cage so that i could use 1 sata cable to power my optical drive and my ssd.
