iGpu being used?

Hi so i just went from a r5 5600 to r5 7600x cpu build and since i did its been nothing but issues that ive finally sorted BUT, when i was going to play GTA V today i noticed i only had 16gb vram which is odd since i have a 7900 xtx so i checked a little and i noticed my iGpu was being used for some reason which it didnt before. Now the fun part is when i went into windows to disable it it still was using it in gta after so i figured id disable it in bios but when i did that my pc just got stuck in a boot cycle until i enabled the igpu again. does anyone know what this could be and or if this is normal and its somehow using both gpus? 
The whole reason i checked is because i got a warning that i was maxing out my vram on gta and i thought the F not i am i got 24gb and i looked and it was 16gb

r5 7600x with peerless asssassin cooler.

b650 gaming plus wifi msi

ddr5 2 x 2 x 8 gb hyperx fury beast 5600 mhz (running at xmp 3 (4800 mhz cus all else didnt wanna work) 

wd green ssd 2tb is where the games are all at

nv2 1tb kingston is where windows is stored

1000w thermalright psu 80+ gold

monitor is 4k 144hz if it matters

You connect your display to your 7900XTX and not your motherboard right? Because everything you said sounds like you arent.

yes yes i would do quit pc hobby as a whole if had managed to do that mistake xD (ofc always smart to check tho)

So awkward i forgot to update gpu drivers after i did a full windows reinstall yesterday so i was running drivers from 2022... after updating it now seems to be using my Dedicated gpu   (yes im broke ik)
