Node 605 and NH-D15

I'm looking to do a HTPC build, and I already know that I'm going to use the Fractal Node 605. I really want to use a Noctua NH-D15, but I don't know if it's too tall for the case. I've seen several reviews that talk about the clearance, and it looks like it's really close to either just fitting, or not fitting at all. I am willing to go to an NH-L9i, but that's my fallback plan at this moment. Does anyone know for sure if a D15 would fit?

 

Related question: would a D15 fit into a Node 304?

The Node 605 only has 125mm for CPU coolers, so it won't fit, you can always get a C14 or a U9B.

Firstly, no. Secondly, why do you think you need such a massive CPU cooler for an HTPC?

Absolutely not. See below

He can fit the NH-C14 but only with one fan installed underneath the heatsink because this> 'CPU cooler compatibility: Approx 125mm with side-mounted fans - For coolers with top-mounted fans, Fractal Design recommends that you add at least 30 mm clearance for decent airflow.'

 

The NH-U9B is not a bad choice either. Also check out Enermax ETD-T60-TB.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you have to use low-profile RAM when using the C14, because you can't mount the fan on top, due to the height of the case, and the fan on the bottom would start to hang over into the RAM. I wouldn't mind using one fan for the C14, but I don't like the idea of only using one fan for the U9B.
