Why not a 7950x3d if you're gaming?

And I'd get GSkill Trident RAM rather than Corsair

i see the 7950x3d recommended alot. I saw some mixed comments about stability about it so I got a bit worried and went with the 7950x

Thanks! i went with a build sourced from what discounts can give me which limited me to where i can buy things from.

that's mainly due to it's layout, since 7950x3D is 2 chiplets connected to each other, but only one has 3D cache, which means sometimes the CPU can use the non-3D cores when you want 3D cores in gaming for example,

if you have one CCD doing task, but the data is stored on the other CCD because it has bigger x3D cache, it might cause some latency which can cause hitch or lag or small fps drop, (this is somewhat fixable through several ways that are more or less of a comprimise)

image.png.cea9eaab13d3f1dcb7229e0868f2afb7.png

7950x is good CPU too, it just doesn't have the 3D cache which is quite nice in some games

yeah you could have gone bit further with -4$ on PSU and like -50-100$ less on MB depending on color,

the build though looks white themed so some components are probably gonna cost bit more just for their white color version,

I do suppose things like black fans could look interesting with white RGB

Only issue with the 7950x3d is that there isn't any hardware to ensure games use the 3d chip, you may have to use software for this (I use Process Lasso)

Apart from that it's a more efficient and cooler chip than a 7950x, faster in games due to cache and only 5% slower in productivity due to the 3d chip having slower clock (5.25GHz) and no OC
