Ciao!

We've been exploring an opportunity to work with Mondly, a language learning app, and would love to get your guys' thoughts! Has anyone tried the platform before?

Ever since I came back from my vacation from Italy, I've been itching to learn some Italian, and having tried out the app for a bit, it seems to be pretty good!

"Grazie" in advance!

*Please note that our team does our own research and testing around vetting sponsor products and services. However, we've found that soliciting feedback from the community can sometimes add something new to the conversation that we weren't aware of*

Not getting off on a great foot.....*

Though this kind of thing is standard practice for Pearson in my experience: having a WILDLY inflated price, and then crossing it out and putting the actual price. Viewing it like a textbook from a textbook company, $99.99 is about the going rate for semester access codes, $129.99 for "lifetime" access. If the learning is going well, and you feel like you have gotten a good exchange for your money, I'd say it's just normal textbook company behavior.

*The timer does actually go down and not reset, so the "OMG buy it quick!!" does seem like an actual promo period. Would hold off and see what it looks like after that "promo period" to see what happens next, whether it goes back to $2k or if it does a perpetual 1 week sale that just resets every week.

@BiotechBen Hey! Thanks for catching that! The popup never appeared for me, but absolutely we'll be keeping an eye on this to see if it resets. Nonetheless, I will be bringing this up to them.

FWIW, I don't seem to see the Lifetime sub and the weeklong deal that @BiotechBenhad is only a daily deal for me. I might have gotten there through a different menu since I picked a language to "learn" first.

Oh, it ended up showing up as a pop up "exclusive offer" for lifetime once I left the site open a bit longer.

Once the exclusive offer popped up for me and I clicked on it then it became a week long limited time offer.

Not against a language learning app as a sponsor as I've been passively shopping for one, but it would be nice to see them clean up their "pressure sales" before I thought about going with them. Their price isn't that far off. Rosetta Stone is $200 for lifetime unlimited languages. They do have a "$400 crossed out to $200", but no timers or anything and have a lot less languages than Mondly.

I'm not actually trying to be as grumpy as it seems.

I will find your mentions of Ikea or Gnome and I will /s post.
