do pumps get warm?

would there be a problem If I encased a pump in a small box the size of the pump with noise dampening foam?

IIRC D5 dumps the heat into the coolant, so it doesnt get that hot, so that would work

They do make a little bit of heat (since there are moving parts in them), but I'd imagine they would cool off from the water they're pumping.

well im pretty sure ddc(or is it d5 im thinking of... whatever the mcp35x is) pumps get a tad hot, i know the mcp35x has an optional heatsink. not sure about d5s, honestly I would say your plan would work fine, never heard of a pump overheating before. itll get some cooling from the coolant going through it anyway
