500 dollar buget pc

Then your best bet is to buy a used dell optiplex (or any other cheap pc), and put a gpu in it, or try and find an already build cheap gaming pc, as well as buying the monitor used too

Optiplexes are crap unless theyre the tower versions and thats assuming a half decent psu or a non proprietary one, if you can find one at a decent price where it isnt being competed on by an lga 2011(-3) workstation its a decent pick

Edge case is a 5600G build, that barely makes it:

  • Basically you'd get cheap "gaming" keyboard and mouse
  • 1080p or 900p monitor something that doesn't look entirely crappy I guess
  • 5600G is a decent bet, it has iGPU that performs similarly to GTX 750 or GTX 1050 depending on game
  • The build uses one of the cheapest cases possible, but any case that fits components will do
  • 500GB of storage, not much but at least it's M.2

  • You might find much faster potential builds on used-market overall, or certain components maybe, there could be a chance someone getting rid of like a 500$ worth PC and selling it for like those 350-400$ ish price
  • I'd count the peripheral price first and then see what could be bought with the remaining money otherwise how are you going to play on a PC with no monitor or keyboard right?
  • From personal experience, you don't need a mechanical keyboard, as long as it's gaming keyboard membrane are fine keyboards, they can be bit quieter sometimes too if they're not too cheaply made, the reason you want gaming keyboard is because of anti-ghosting feature, that makes sure you can press multiple keys and getting it through, keyboards that don't have it either can't press multiple keys or press them after the first ones are released which is annoying

Igpus are kinda stupid just buy a cheaper cpu and buy a used 30$ 4gb rx 570/580 or maybe even a used 950/960/1050(ti) which will destroy the igpu

Used 3600 can be had for ~50$ (equiv to a 5500)

For whatever reason the B450 gaming plus is at 75$ so cheaper better board

Still a damn good attempt at an all new 500$ build with peripherals cause i wouldnt even bother with a new case let alone a (overpriced) new apu and i would have absolutely no clue on the peripherals

Just that a couple used parts (cpu gpu) will make it a whole lot better in performance whilst retaining the same price and not being too much of a hassle like used boards

if you can even find those for that low of a price, at least ones that don't overheat the second you turn on Firefox

forgot to mention but avoid the china gpus their heatsinks are trash and even undervolted theyll still hit 90c in furmark, a non china gpu probably just needs a repaste like any other gpu and you are good to go

the 40$ extra over the 5500 new is enough to buy a used 4gb 570/580 which will crush the igpu even if you ran the igpu at 2400-2500mhz with ddr4 4600, maybe if it was priced closer to the 5500 then itd make sense cause you cant just buy a used 570/580 for the price of an igpu

i mean itd work but we are talking a massive performance diff between a 750/1030 and what is effectively a 1060 in terms of performance so you dont have to play at low or even 720p, for the same price going igpu just doesnt make any sense even if you have an aversion to used gpus considering how cheap those polaris cards are

yes, but the point is you get an entire CPU + GPU that performs similarly to GTX 1050,

5600G can 1080p, it's just not consistent and it's an iGPU so GPU heavy titles will struggle:

no i think those ones are ok issue is just the generic mining cards with those trash aluminium coolers you have to avoid

i dont think thats 1050 performance even if you did do a proper tune

keep in mind that the 570/580 is still abit faster than a 1050ti and this is vs an overclocked igpu

it's not, but if you're not hardcore on graphics it can have some stable lows and decent fps, also GTX 1050 and 1050ti may be same GPUs but they're totally different:

1050ti is supposed to represent the rx 570/580

so yeah double the fps and thats with the igpu overclocked, sure the rams are slow but i doubt op wants to bother with stabilizing a kit at 4600+ let alone finding said kit cause some actually good oem rams may or may not be available or easily accessible

I get that, but 5600G is a good choice if the other ones are more expensive or out of reach for some reason or another
