Laptop charging options | interested in Ugreen

I recently got interested in old computers again and wanted to use my old laptop. I lost the charger and replacing it is expensive, I saw Linus's video on Ugreen and was interested in trying to do that myself. Later I am (hopefully) going to get other old laptops that would otherwise be thrown out so I think it would be a good idea. I don't know how to find out my voltage, the exact size of the power plug, or what I need to buy. If there is any other easy way to do what I need Id gladly take suggestions. Thank you for any tips

You need to check laptop model, or just measure power port and check against https://www.cui.com/blog/selecting-appropriate-input-and-output-plugs-for-your-power-adapter

Why would you want to go through the hassle?

You can buy a second hand original Dell charger for your laptop for under $20. The money spent here would be much better than risking your entire laptop.

(Shipping is shown as expensive as my location is in Asia)

When the son of the deposed king of Nigeria emails you directly, asking for help, you help! His father ran the freaking country! Ok?

it didn't seem like something that would ruin my (abandoned) laptop, and with shipping that is 40$ for me

Sorry, specifically what did you want to do besides buying another charger?

save money in the long end and try out something cool. from the video and my own searching it would cost around the price of that charger when I buy all the parts, then ~8$ for every other laptop I find

Do you expect to find more laptops in future and continue implementing this?

I am not trying to sell them. I wanna try doing linux on older systems and see how much I can do. I have friends with shitty laptops that windows takes up almost all of their resources

I'm not certain. The video didn't show what you would do for laptops well and I couldn't find any other ones. I'm not sure if I needed a special sensor one like he had for the game console or if its as simple as getting one of those and connecting it to the Ugreen plug
