battlefield 4 server problem

Go to solution Solved by colonel_mortis,

When i put the IP address it goes directly to my modem site not my router site. I am with Bell and im not sure where this Port 3659 is located. Also how do i update punkbuster? is it through origin?

http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php should do the trick.

If none of the IPs are working, open command prompt and type ipconfig then press enter. Scroll up and find the adaptor related to your connection, then type in the IP listed in the default gateway. Then somewhere in the UI there should be an option to port forward (google your specific router if you're not sure), and you need to set port 3659 (UDP) to forward to the internal IP of your PC. You will probably have to allocate your PC a static IP address, which you can do by Right clicking on the network icon in the tray -> Open Network and Sharing Center -> Change adapter settings (on the left pane) -> Richt click on the adapter that you're using -> Properties -> Click on "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" -> Properties (under the pane) -> Use the following IP address: (IP address should be 192.168.<which ever number was here in the router setup page>.<pick a large number that's less than 255 (such as 246)> -> Subnet mask: (This should be somewhere in your router settings, but it's probably 255.255.255.0) -> Default Gateway: (whatever the default gateway was listed as in cmd).

HEY LTT PEOPLE,

recently i been trying to connect to the "Stars and Stripes | 24/7 Conquest | sasklan.com | GameME Stats" server but am unable to connect. The error i am continuing getting is this:

ERROR

Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Check your network connection and make sure that port 3659 (UDP) is open.

I have searched on the battlefield forums to try and figure out what is going on but am not sure. It only happens for this server at the moment. People say there is something i have to do with my router but I am extremely confused. The router i am using is a Linksys ezxs55w router.

if anyone knows how to fix this please let me know! THANKS

Update punkbuster. That solver 90% of network problems with BF. If it would be about ports, you can try opening/forwarding closed ports. Google BF4 Port Forwarding and there's good guides on how. It can also be server side thing with certain IPs set as "not welcome" for some reason (usually high ping).

If updating pb doesn't help, go into your router settings (often 192.198.0.1 .1.1 or .2.0) and (turn off upnp) (optional - it can help) then forward port 3659 on up to your pc. You shouldn't need to do this though - it works fine for me without doing that.

Does it only affect you on that server? Because that's weird...
