windows 11 24h2 in virtualbox question

i'm trying to install windows 11 24h2 in virtualbox? It just hangs. i'm using latest version virtualbox. I have no problems running windows 11 23h2 in virtualbox.

i'm using my dell optiplex 5080 mini tower, 1 tb nvme ssd, 32 gb ram, i7 10700, AMD Radeon RX 640, windows 10 22h2 pro with all latest windows updates installed and all latest drivers installed

I assume you've enabled all hardware virtualization features in your computer's BIOS? How much RAM and how many cores did you assign to the VM? Which other settings did you use for the VM (e.g. chipset, tpm, enabled features, processor, acceleration, …)? Latest version of Virtual Box?

 

If it hangs, then at some point Virtual Box should pop up a guru meditation error.

my BIOS was already enabled!!!

I found a solution that works for me.
I tried everything I could think of, I spent hours trying to figure it out.
I noticed that Windows 11 24H2 did work in VMWare but would hang in VirtualBox. 
Only 24H2 was not working. Everything else does. 

The Solution:
In VirtualBox go to your Windows 11 24H2 virtual Machine

»» Settings

»» System

»» Change the chipset to ICH9

»» Click OK

now run the virtual machine. 
It worked for me.
