What year is it?! Why can't Steam run 2 "games" at the same time??

So the tldr: i have windows media player added to Steam just so its easier to launch, but when im starting a game media player closes because steam will not for whatever reason run 2 "games" at the same time, what gives?

So you couldn't run say Street Fiighter and Helldivers at the same time even though your pc would be easily capable... how

does that make sense?

I often run two steam games at the same time.  I often check 'Holyday City Reloaded' on my steam account while waiting between rounds in Hell Let Loose that I play on steam.

somehow doesn't seem to work for me, as said. are you using the *same* account for both games?

Why not pin Media Player to the taskbar instead?

yeah sure, that would work (i dont like the clutter tho, there's really nothing much on my desktop / taskbar) but i was just wondering why it closes, aka why no two games or applications at the same time .

@Hinjima says it works tho, but im not sure if it needs some kind of workaround? (gonna check it)
