Sandesk 256gb usb does not open on PC but opens on smart TV

I bought this usb for my uncle then he filled it with some stuff (mostly videos) to play on his TV

After he did he told me that some videos do not open. I inserted it into my PC but it did not open (it is there is task manager and device manager but you cannot access its files) same happens in other pcs.

I was able to open it before he filled it. formatting is not an option. the picture down there is my device trying to read it? It's been connected to the PC for a bit over 24 hours now. Should I leave it like that for the hope that after it reads the whole usb I will be able to access its contents and hopefully back them up? Or is this just pointless?
