My technology project at 13 years old

I have made it prettier by making it full black

And via putting actual controls not a full on keyboard

That looks great! It's like a cardboard arcade machine with a keyboard! What's the machine underneath?

Message me on discord (bread8669) for more help

What a project! love to see the youth tinkering with tech! Keep it up, maybe if you interested taking woodworking class (or learn it from the net) you can make more amazing looking case for the arcade machine. Cheers, and stay creative!

full specs?

2006 suggests core 2 era

when i was your age i was stuck with a pile of shit 775 system that couldnt overclock for shit and because im an idiot bought off aliexpress and paid 100$ for a god damn 775 system 💀  though atleast i was alot happier in elemantary compared to now at 16 almost 17 (may) in highschool but im working on it =p

maybe ill go revisit 775 and bin some cpus see if i can get a good pentium or core 2 sample but rn still focused on 1366 ddr3 oc

Spoiler

IMG_20240226_015145.thumb.jpg.7e23d5ac63896a27983bdf868ecf3f73.jpgIMG_20240330_233353.thumb.jpg.e9ba5766ec80228368cf2df120dc0b55.jpg

ddr3 3400 so far and hoping for higher with abit more binning, but ill eventually hit a wall where ill need to run subzero for higher freq

i havent really done any projects like that aside from my car radiator loop that is on indefinite hiatus cause im too lazy to buy a block and put it in my room cause it probably needs a bucket as the res and is definitely gonna be pretty big, id rather subzero phase change than a car radiator loop (better than air but not by leaps and bounds like subzero), still broke though so gonna get some cash and then ill probably buy some used ac unit and whatever tools ill need for brazing to make a cpu block

i mainly oc my hardware so any of my projects would be related to ocing hardware like buying a 72w tec and attempting (and failing) to cool a cpu for higher ocs though it did somewhat work for cooling a northbridge, i just cant come up with something that isnt oc related since i all my pc hardware fun is tied to overclocking the balls off the hardware, though my aunt did just give my mom and dad a flatscreen tv and it isnt a smart tv so maybe i can do something about that, a diy mini pc maybe? idk

Nice! Cardboard is great stuff for making.

Maybe if you get the design nailed down in cardboard, you can convince someone to help you build a version out of thin plywood. That stuff is pretty inexpensive and easy to work with hand tools (or a small circular saw with a fine-tooth OSB blade).

I also merged your posts together. If you want to add something to a post, or go back and change a typo, you can edit a post you already saved by clicking the pencil icon at the bottom. 🙂

My grandfather is really good at that and i'm one of his favourites and since my family wants to keep him active i guess this could be done

And that way i have an excuse to spend more time with him. Though I'll have to make in plywood in quite a bit since I still have to present it. I've named it Hecci.

Since I'm Héctor so that's the Hec there's an extra c because of another teammate called carla and an I from Iván. There was going to be an A for Andres but we removed it for not doing anything. I did everything but the art which was handled by Iván and Carla since I suck at art

The project looks great so far, nice job! But cardboard is cardboard and wood will look better and more "complete," so I'd recommend talking to him and I bet he would help you! Keep up the great work on your project!

Last project I did was building a 1440p gaming PC in a Mac Pro to make a sleeper PC, but that was before I knew much about PCs so I kinda got scammed on some parts...

Project before that was putting a Raspberry Pi 4 inside of a 1993 Macintosh LC III which looks really cool but isn't practical and I never use it, I'll probably take it out and use it for something better.

I love making PCPartPicker lists.

The art is a pacman on one side and a donkey kong stage on the back

Yeah but the project requirements where that it had to be made from cardboard so i will make it in plywood after presenting it

I hope I get a good grade

I thought it was just your personal tinkering project, didn't realize it has requirements and is for a contest or something. Good luck presenting!

But yes, that would be cool to make it in plywood when you're done, I'd like to see how this project turns out in the end so make sure to post updates.

Nah this is my grade

He told us to make something interesting with cardboard and i think i delivered good enough

On a bit of a unrelated note do you think adding this plane in a style so it looks like it's flying would be cool?

It's a previous project so

@Legendario1973 I am going to go against everyone else who is saying make it plywood. I say keep it cardboard! It's much more unique this way. plywood arcade machines have been done to death. This has style! The only thing I would do is give it proper arcade joysticks and buttons. There are kits on ebay that have everything you need.

arcade joystick kit

Something like this would put it at a proper arcade level!

Thank you so much. Especially since I did use a lot of tries for the screen to not fall over the stand I made for it (out of cardboard cause I don't cheat) which is really hard since it's very heavy.

I can tell you the lengths of everything I you want to recreate it it's quite easy if you have the measurements

I can't get the joysticks because my parents don't really trust ebay and they say it's to expensive anyways especially with the shipping to Spain

So Hecci is under maintenance cause in upgrading the power button and adding a USB 3.2 port. I did add 4 USB 2.0 ports too. Have in mind it's in the back side or side to not make it ugly
