CISCO UCS C240 M4 12LFF PCIE Riser Power

Do the PCIE riser cards require a 8pin gpu power? or are they power by the pcie slot? can't find the part number for the cable if needed.

Some do/some don't. There is the cable itself, which just makes an extension of the PCIe slot, and then there is the one for bitcoin mining which also plugs into the PCIe slot, but requires separate power to be connected to it, to give power to the GPU.

NEVER GIVE UP. NEVER STOP LEARNING. DONT LET THE PAST HURT YOU. YOU CAN DOOOOO IT

The risers themselves usually don't.

I'm not sure about Cisco, but in Dell PowerEdge servers your GPUs actually draw power from the 8-pin EPS sockets on the risers.

I sold my soul for ProSupport.
